Determine the change

Determine the change in pressure if 1.0 L of gas at 1.0 atm was reduced to 0.25 L.
Boyle's law states... "...For a fixed amount of an ideal gas kept at a fixed temperature, P [pressure] and V [volume] are inversely proportional (while one doubles, the other halves)...." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boyle's_law In this case you have a fixed amount of , I assume , is an ideal gas. If you reduce the volume by 1/4, then the pressure will rise by 4 times. Since you started with 1.0 atm, then your final pressure will be 4.0 atm. ...
